0 My Baby Turns Three

We started the day off at the Zoo with a big woohoo ↑
Okay, maybe dinosaurs are real ↑
Benson was more impressed with his socks than the animals ↑
Flirting with the boys ↑
Taking it all in ↑

Kenzie is three! She is such an amazing little girl. Her favorite things to do are playing with friends, going for walks, playing at the park, going to the library, and playing monsters. She prefers Spider-Man to princesses right now and loves to eat hot dogs and marshmallows. She is such a good big sister and starts singing to Benson whenever he starts to cry. She comforts him by saying, "It's okay brother boo, I'm right here. It's okay." She is very polite, kind, and smart. And her energy is never ending.

Kenzie has a great sense of humor. She picks up on funny lines in movies and then quotes them (so proud!). Her favorite movie quote is from Despicable me, when Gru says "knocked ooover." She'll say this multiple times each day trying to get a laugh. She loves to sing songs and she has a great little singing voice. Her favorite songs are Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and Adele's "Rumor Has It."

I couldn't ask for a better kid to be my baby. We love you Kenzie girl!

1 Quick Update

I have not blogged in over a month! Sorry, but here's why. We are graduating in April! Nick got a job in Salt Lake City, so we are desperately searching for the perfect place. Which is proving to be impossible. (Especially with two screaming smidges). But we are hopeful! We are in the process of de-junking and getting rid of everything we own.

I will hopefully have more time for this blog once summer hits and we're settled, but as for now send happy thoughts my way because moving is not as fun as I thought it would be.

5 Crochet Craspedia Flowers

I added these fun flowers to my shop. They're my absolute favorite. And the best part is I don't have to water them and they'll never die.

10 What 32 Skeins of Yarn Looks Like

I got this lovely bunch of yarn in the mail today. Is there any better mail then a box full of yarn?

Lionbrand yarn, Cotton-Ease is my absolute favorite yarn. I used it to make my Lego, Triangle, Bobble, and Sunburst Blanket. The colors are fantastic and it crochets up wonderfully. I'll be making a bunch of Lego and Bobble blankets with this yarn. What are you working on this winter? Do you have a favorite yarn you'd recommend?

1 My Babies

I'm a little late in posting my New Year's resolutions, but one of them is to spend more time with these little smidges.

I feel like every day since Kenzie turned two has been a battle. I've always heard the twos were terrible, but I had no idea it would be like this. This year I've decided that, terrible or not, I want to enjoy each moment I have with these sillies, and I need to start by remember that she's only two and letting her act like a two year old. The older I get, the more I realize how not fun being an adult is, so I don't want her to have to be an adult any time soon.

For example, Kenzie asks me to play tigers or lions or monsters with her all the time, and I'm sad to say that my answer is often "in a minute" or "not right now, later." But the "later" never comes or I only last about five minutes playing pretend with her. (There are so many other things I'd rather be doing than playing pretend...) So, I want to be a mom that says "yes" more often than "no." I want to be the mom that will play pretend, be imaginative, and encourage my kids to be silly and, well, kids.

I really want to spend every day this year thinking, "How can I be the best mom to my kids?" I love my two little munchkins and feel so incredibly blessed that they chose to come to me. I want them to feel equally as blessed to call me their mom.

0 AZ Christmas

We decided last minute to spend Christmas in Arizona with my family. We surprised them by coming a day early and when we got there no one was home. Which was perfect because we let ourselves in and waited for them. My mom saw us first and just stared at us all for a minute. Then she realized who we were and threw her arms up and screamed with excitement. We loved AZ so much we extended our stay by a couple of days. It definitely was not a white Christmas (it was in the 60s!), but it was a fun one. Every time Kenzie opened a present she would say, "For me? Thank you!"

0 Family

We took family pictures and, with all odds against us, I really love them. I love my family. Merry Chirstmas!
